About The Author
Hi. I’m the Rev. Lee Baucom, Ph.D. I am a 19 year veteran of marriage counseling as a Pastoral Counselor. My training has been in marriage and family therapy, earning a Master’s degree in Divinity, a Master’s Degree in Theology, and a Ph.D. in the area. I have also completed specialty training in Community Building, as well as in Personal Coaching.
I am an experienced facilitator of health and healing for individuals, couples, families, and organizations. This experience has given me a different perspective on why couples have problems, and what the solutions are for these problems. I have integrated this with a Biblical understanding of marriage.
From the beginning, I was committed to making relationships work. It is my contention that most relationships are salvageable, and that many take the “easy way out,” rather than finding a workable solution that preserves the relationship, leaving the relationship healthy and individuals happy.
My Christian life is really my entire life. My father was a pastor in the local church until he retired, and the church was a part of my life all along. I was active in all areas of church life, and continue to be active in my own church. My faith in God is always deepened when I see God’s work in my own life, the lives of others, and in this awesome creation of the world.
I have been happily married for 19 years, and have two children. I am devoted to my family, and see that as inspiration for my own work with families trying to find health.
In addition to family time, in my off-hours, I enjoy trail running, mountain biking, and scuba diving. I also pursue flyfishing and am an avid reader with a great deal of curiosity about a number of diverse fields.
